| The Ohio Rescue At the end of October 2009 DBL received an email from a shelter in Dover Ohio. They had just taken in 3 possible wolf-hybrids and wanted help to determine if they were hybrids and possible help in a rescue. The 3 animals had been found chained to an abandoned trailer in the woods by a hunter. He notified the shelter and during the intake of the animals the adult female died from her very poor health. The dad and little daughter began the long healing process. After many e-mails back and forth we got the word that they could come here. On November 16,2009 AJ and Bill headed to Ohio to bring them home. After over a 13 hour trip AJ and Bill picked up Kyva, the dad, and Autumn, 4 month old daughter. After another 13 plus hour trip and a visit to our vet they made the trek up the mountain. The introduction into their new home went even smoother than we had hoped for. Toboho, a 14 y/o male, and Angel, a 8 y/o female, fell in love with Autumn and Kyva. They began to play within minutes of getting together. We want to thank the staff at the Tuscarawas County Humaine Society for the great care they gave these wonderful misunderstood animals. There was hardly a dry eye as we left the shelter with them. |
